South CLT Pres is a church in Charlotte, NC that welcomes skeptics, the curious, and believers alike in their search for truth and life. We believe that Biblical Christianity offers the best answers to the biggest and hardest questions we wonder about.

We highly value our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship, and ultimately growing closer to God. We value the word of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken, and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.

Started in 2017 as a church plant from Uptown Church in Charlotte, NC
Gathered first in Hope Community Church on Rea Road led by Dean Faulkner as lead pastor and Josh Creason as assistant pastor
By 2018 the church moved to Ballantyne Elementary School
In mid-2020, Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES) became the new building home for South CLT Pres
At the end of 2020, South CLT Pres moved to a bigger, longterm facility on the SES site allowing for future growth
In June 2021, South CLT Pres became a particularized church that is self-supported with installed and ordained officers

Pastor Dean Faulkner is the Lead Pastor and co-church planter at South CLT Presbyterian Church. Dean is an experienced pastor having led multiple churches including two church plants in the PCA. Prior to pastoring, Dean worked as an electrical engineer at a Fortune 500 computer manufacturing company in the new products division. He loves working collaboratively and starting new things. On the side, Dean also serves as a Guest Lecturer and the Director of the Center for Church Planting at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. He is married to Elizabeth who is a commissioned artist and teacher. They have two kids and are empty-nesters. Dean received his Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell in Massachusetts and his Doctor of Ministry from RTS-Charlotte. He enjoys golf, fishing, fantasy football, and hanging out with new friends on his back patio. Dean is also one of the three people you have met who are natives of Charlotte.

Josh is the associate pastor and co-church planter at South CLT Pres. He received his seminary degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte and has been in pastoral ministry since 2009. Prior to seminary, Josh worked in the life insurance industry and continued to do so after going into ministry. Josh has enjoyed serving and caring for the church of Christ throughout his ministry. He enjoys hiking, swimming, playing guitar and bass. He is thankful to be walking this road with his wife and best friend, Stephanie. They have three daughters, Elena, Emily, and Lily, who are truly an encouragement to his heart.

Becky grew up in The Bronx, NY and moved to the Carolinas as a teenager, getting her B.A. in English Literature at Queens University of Charlotte. She taught high school English in Union County for seven years before pursuing an MLIS at UNC-Greensboro and becoming a high school librarian. She worked in libraries for almost six years, when the Lord opened the door to do something she had always dreamed of - to be a full-time mama! She is loving life at home with her husband Matt, her two children, Joanna and Coleman, and her sweet fur-baby, Beauty.
